Friends Club’s hopes of a top eight finish all but ended after they played a 1-1 draw against Yeti Himalayan Sherpa Club at the Dashrath Stadium, while NRT blanked Baudha 2-0 at Halchowk to match stride with Three Star.
The Kupandole-based outfit were just a minute away from bagging all three points which could have put them in the eighth position at the expense of Nepal Army Club who have 25 points with a game in hand, but a late equaliser from a penalty by Pukar Ghatraj in the fourth minute of stoppage time meant they remained stuck at ninth position with 24 points from 16 matches. Himalayan, meanwhile, slipped one place down to sixth with 30 points, making way for NRT who have 31 points, the same number of points as fourth placed Three Star but ahead on goal difference.
