Nepal Police Club (NPC) are almost assured of the Martyrs Memorial Red Bull ‘A’ Division League title for the third time in a row with an edgy 1-0 win over Mega Three Star Club here at the Dasharath Stadium today.
The victory overshadowed the 7-0 rout of Brigade Boys Club by the only remaining title contenders Laxmi Hyundai Manang Marshyandi Club (MMC) earlier in the first match. With the two teams playing each other in the last round match on Saturday, NPC (44) have maintained a three-point cushion over MMC (41). For MMC to win the title, they need to beat NPC by at least eight-goal margin, which is totally unrealistic.
